Mode of Operation:The
HL3 controller is designed to maintain the level of a liquid, powder or granular
solid between two fixed limits in a vessel. It can either restore the level to
the higher limit when the low limit is reached (Fill mode) or reduce the level
to the lower limit when the upper level is reached ( Empty mode). This is
acheived by using two sensors (capacitive, inductive, photoelectric or float
switch) which can be powered by the HL3 itself, to sense the level of the liquid
in the container and to control pumps or valves to add or remove liquid from the
container.
The type of sensor used will depend
on the material being held in the vessel and the material of the vessel itself.
With non-metallic vessels the sensors can be used to sense through the vessel
walls and avoid any intrusion into the container.
