[People Counters] [Home] People Counting Systems PCS500 and Sensors
The PCS500 system is designed to monitor the flow of people into and out of buildings. Using microprocessor technology the system can monitor up to 8 separate portals and differentiate between people entering and leaving a doorway. Four types of sensor heads are available, a scanning infra red (PSH10), a single beam (PSH1) and a dual beam (PSH2) photoelectric types and a PIR, passive infra red, (PSH3). The scanning infra red is mounted above the entrance and can cover a wide area. It is the most accurate type of sensor as it can count multiple people crossing through the programmed sensing area simultaneously. It can cover wide entrances where many people are entering and leaving at the same time and can be linked together for very wide entrances such as found in shopping malls and theme parks. An outdoor version that is weather proof is also available. With it's ability to connect to up to 8 sensors this system can monitor the most complex of venues. Normally the single beam is used in doorways with traffic flow in one direction and the dual beam with bi-directional traffic. The PIR type is used when is is difficult to install a reflector (it can be ceiling or wall mounted) or where the greater range of 5 meters is required. With it's ability to monitor multiple doorways this system can be used in many applications. The base unit is connected to the remote sensor heads using standard RJ45 CAT5 type data cables and multiple sensors are simply “daisy chained” together to provide very simple installation of the system. The base unit communicates with the sensor heads and keeps a tally of the total of people entering the building over two periods ( such as a daily and weekly total), and the current occupancy level. Options are also available to log the traffic at each portal. The totals are displayed on a five digit LED display and are independently reset. A key operated switch prevents unauthorised operation. Data outputs are available to drive a remote display such as our BD100-5 large display, and to allow a computer to gather the data stored in the system. [People Counters] [Home] |
